Our patient, Douglas Gordanier, just posted this: Ten years ago, at age 54, I was being treated for psoriasis, which had been a life-long malady, when I was finally diagnosed as allergic to peanuts. I never liked peanuts nor peanut butter, even as a kid. My sensitivity to peanuts increased with each allergic episode, until I never went out to eat and didnt dare eat at a potluck. I always carried an epi-pen and a double handful of Benadryl. I couldnt be in a room where someone was eating peanuts. After the allergy diagnosis, I avoided peanuts, and the psoriasis went away ... until the next allergic episode. Food labeled “Processed in a facility that also processes peanuts” was avoided. My sensitivity was so severe that I often experienced an allergic reaction from the basic ingredients. Canola oil (GMO rapeseed oil) is most often processed in the same plant as peanuts, but the salad dressing made with Canola oil doesn’t contain a warning because the salad dressing was not processed in a facility that also processes peanuts. Ive been flattened by pastry, chocolate, bread, pancakes, pasta, anything with canola oil, ice cream, wheat beer, on and on. This is cross-contamination with peanuts. Each episode takes less to set it off, and longer to recover. Last month, at age 64, I began treatment by Dr Aungst. After my second treatment, I started taking Vitamin E oil in a gel-cap. Three days later, I had a tiny spot of psoriasis on my hand. The label read Produced in a facility that also processes peanuts. Prior to this treatment, I would have been flat on my back, gobbling Benadryl, if not in a hospital. This time, I switched brands, no problem. After my third (and last) treatment by Dr Aungst for peanut allergy, I went to a family gathering at my moms. For the last ten years, Ive always been hammered to a greater or lesser extent by an allergic reaction, even when I brought my own pasta, bread, salad dressing, cooking oil, etc. This time I had no problem from cross-contamination. Pancakes on the griddle, then I get an egg? OK. It was exciting! My extended family is delighted and so am I. No allergic reaction, no psoriasis, no sinus problems. Im looking forward to going out to dinner with my beloved. I recommend Dr. Aungsts treatment for allergies. If any of his prospective clients would like to talk to me by phone or in person at a coffee house, Westside Chiropractic has my phone number. Thank you, Dr. Aungst.
