Our performaces, or our roles, are always different from who we - TopicsExpress

Our performaces, or our roles, are always different from who we are. Built on Goffmanian metaphor of the theatre, the video features a gilr who is tired of wearing masks; indeed, wearing masks is tiring. So what she does is look at herself in the mirror, accepts who she is, throw the roles away, and get out to life unmasked, free. Then everybody looks at her, as if she has commited a crime. Or, there is another interpretation; everybody is looking at her as if she is a mirror; because once stripped of masks we are all the same. Yet it is obvious that acting without masks is too utopian to be true. Or, it is not acting at all. Masks are important for acts to be performed. In heaven alone acts can be meaningless.
