Our pitbulls are not meant for water. We took them to the lake and they were the laughingstock of the beach. Nika panicked as if we were bringing her to her death and although Duck would go in to retrieve the tennis ball, we noticed her feet stayed in contact with the lakes floor throughout and no actual swimming occurred. The labradors and water spaniels around us rubbed it in by swimming out hundreds of yards and then swimming back to their owners elegantly after having retrieved their sticks and frisbees. Nika flailed her arms violently when we tried to bring her into the water and it clearly appeared that we were abusing our pup. She did, however, make a lot of new friends as she ran to all the other people on the beach to find her new family that wouldnt try to drown her. Ducky thought sand was a delicious treat and all of it needed to be eaten. Its safe to say we will be sticking with dry concrete streets for all our walks here forward.
