Our political economy was founded on tribes and not a supremacy of a section of a tribe Critical Thinkers of NPP dares NDC propagandists. ***************************** Our political economy was founded on tribes that contributed towards the giant nature of our economy in the olden days. These tribes that constitute part of our political economy have economic values that contribute so significantly to our socioeconomic development. Because of the dynamic nature that a nation generates wealth to support economic activities, one cannot therefore neglect the socioeconomic importance of tribes in our economic development. The diversity nature of tribes constituting our political economy is a contributing factor of a faster attainment of our political independence. One can therefore not downplay or isolate tribes in our socioeconomic development because each one contributed significantly towards our economic emancipation that our fore fathers fought for. The understanding of our political economy by Danquah Busia and Dombo tradition enabled them to institute and invest in different areas of tribes constituting our political economy. This was just to pool resources together and also to promote oneness. One can justify this in the following areas in NPP implemented policies. The building of the bui dam, rehabilitation of one senior shs per district, capitation grant, introduction of volta tilapia fish farming, NHIS, free maternity, school feeding program, proposed northern development fund to promote agriculture, proposed iron refinery at akpafu in volta region, the use of Aliu mahama, Dr. Bawumia, Dr. Tamakloe, Perry Okudzeto, late courage Quashiga, Hamid mustapha just to mention a few shows that NPP is not a tribal party but was rather interested in the equal distribution of the nations wealth among all tribes. All these were done without taking into consideration tribes but rather cus of the understanding of the importance of our political economy or understanding the importance of tribes constituting our political economy and hence no tribes assumes supremacy over the other. The dispensation of P/NDC rule does not see the importance of tribes in our political economy and therefore shocks all when da ndc wants to tag the NPP as tribal instead of themselves. The assumption of office by this NDC has led to a deep crack in tribal cohensiveness. The kicking out of Mrs bamfoe from the speakers position by adjaho, the kicking against the eastern corridor road by a section of an NDC caucus in parliament and also the siting of the volta university at its particular place faced strong opposition from this same caucus in government. It only took an intervention of the late President Mills to establish it in his name. With the reasons above and others, One can therefore see the difference between the UP tradition which was formed from the coming together of all tribes (northerners, akans, ewes, fantes, gas etc with the majority being northerners) and now NPP and the P/NDC. With the reasons above, one can therefore say that NPP is not tribal scented nor practice nepotism as its falsely spread by the NDC. Writer (Magnus Zephaniah Pongo)
