It is the fear of reprisal that pushes business owners to close down. As a trading and commercial center success of Karachi depends on generating more and more business. Calls for strike damage the prospects of the city which is the base of MQM support. In the long run this will only hurt MQM and no one else. Success of Karachi is success of Pakistan.
