Our programme for PIXELS includes reworkings of 2 classic Alfred Hitchcock films The Birds and Psycho by our own cellist Jenny OMalley… The original Birds film did not in fact contain a musical score, instead relying heavily on an electronic soundscape, which Jenny has edited extensively to suit her work, whilst modifying the film itself to create a distinct, erratic and arresting piece. Meanwhile her Psycho Medley is an arrangement of the main recurring, unsettling themes of Bernard Herrmann’s score.
