Our science snippet of the week - worm therapy! Parasitic worms have a reputation for causing disease. So the idea of being deliberately infected with them to improve your health might seem, literally, hard to swallow. The interesting thing about parasitic worms however is that they are able to control certain types of immune responses. Our scientists believe that if we can understand how they do this, we could do the same to treat diseases such as asthma and allergy in a more natural way.
