Our semi-annual Blood Drive will take place Sunday December 7th from 9:00 a.m. through 2:30 p.m. Do a Mitzvah. Save a life. Join us Sunday December 7th at 10:30 a.m. for Sifriyat Pijama – PJ Library storytelling in Hebrew with Morah Digi. Mark your calendar for next Sunday, December 14 at 9:30 a.m. for our Pre-Chanukah Celebration. AzamraDJ will be joining us again this year for a high-energy happening. We ask that you bring a small $5.00 gift for our Chanukah Toy Drive. These gifts can be brought to your child’s Hebrew school class. See the flyer on the credenza for further information. This program is sponsored by the Parents Association and the Pa’am B’Chodesh Committees. In addition, next Sunday December 14 please join us for PJ Library Books, Bits and Bites led by Kathy Buchsbaum, at 10:30 a.m. Hear Chanukah stories from the PJ Library collection and enjoy breakfast bites and make wonderful crafts. At 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16 Yeladudes Jewish Bilingual Theater presents “The Chanukah Miracle” in the Claire and Emmanuel G. Rosenblatt Auditorium. Don’t miss this wonderful program. Also on Tuesday, at 7:30 p.m. a Joint Chanukah Concert, featuring The Hagit Avnon Ensemble will be held at Temple Hillel on Rosedale Road in North Woodmere. This event is sponsored by Congregation Sons of Israel, Temple Hillel and Temple Beth El; and is free and open to the public. The next Sisterhood Book Club meeting will be held on Wednesday evening, December 17. The book to be discussed is The Children Act by Ian McEwan. In this novel, medicine meets religion. For every purchase made through our website, our synagogue receives a donation form Amazon Lay members of our congregation have volunteered to teach any congregant who wishes to learn more about davening and to teach men over the age of thirteen to lead weekday Shacharit, Minchah, and Maariv Services as well as the Preliminary Service of Shabbat. Sessions will be taught individually or in small groups at no charge. If you are interested, please contact the synagogue office.
