Our speaker at church today had to cancel for personal reasons and we used the opportunity to have a thought exchange. Its a great opportunity to submit written questions of a spiritual nature and have it discussed from the podium and from the congregation. Once a month on a Monday, Peter Hatcher facilitates a Lets Talk Spiritualism evening that I cant attend, so this is a chance to hear different slants on diverse topics. David Jones did an excellent job of demonstrating mediumship - I believe he gave about 8 messages in about 18 minutes. As Ive said before, David has a knack for names and significant dates. Hes also great at locations: he says Spirit actually will display a map of an area for him! David, Elizabeth, Katie and her friend (Mary?) and I slipped down to Tim Hortons for our post-service coffee and conversation. We had a discussion about how doubt can creep in and sap confidence in ourselves. The consensus seemed to be that awareness in the moment can halt the process. Though were fallible human beings, we have to trust Spirit to find a way to get the message across. If the recipient fails to confirm the information at the time, it may just mean that time and further consideration is needed. Its not profitable to dwell on the one that seems less than accurate and ignore the several others that are right on.
