Our street is narrow, and barely wide enough for 2 vehicles to pass one another. This afternoon, as the school bus was stopped and kids were debarking and walking to their homes across the road and into nearby yards, a blue compact car illegally whipped by the bus on the opposite side of the road. The school bus driver blasted his horn and the car stopped a few feet beyond the rear of the bus. A woman got out, smiled sheepishly at me, shrugged, and said, Sorry. I didnt notice. I smiled back sweetly and told her loudly, Yeah, I can see how the big yellow bus and all those kids would be easy to miss. Then I turned my back to her. Just in case some of you were wondering where Sean got his smart mouth.....(Im still furious at her flagrant disregard for the safety of those kids.)
