Our sweet girl Jiwon Lee. So much more than just a student -- a hilarious comedian, an endlessly supportive friend, a gorgeous lady. I dont know if I ever told her how beautiful she is. There was a time when I saw her several times a week at different shows or parties. I havent seen her much lately but whenever I do she is always so giving and loving and positive. I keep looking at her number in my phone and wanting to text her, but I know I cant. I did not know she was suffering so much and it feels very strange to think that as a writer and speaker on mental health I could write to and talk to strangers around the country about this stuff all the time but not know that someone I knew personally was struggling so. This is not to assume any kind of guilt or make her disappearance about me in any way. Nor is it to pretend she was my BFF these past few years; we were on different paths on different coasts.
