Our thoughts and prayers are with the 2 victims killed today in a senseless siege at Martin Place. We pray for their families. To the hostages who survived, we can never feel what you have gone through in all those hours of wondering if you next breath would be your last, I wish you a speedy recovery. I thank our police and emergency services for the brave work you have done to make our streets safe again. We must be forever diligent and resilient in making sure that those who seek to terrorise and disrupt our way of life never succeed.
