Our time with the Lord on this morning, Sunday, 15 September 2013 - TopicsExpress

Our time with the Lord on this morning, Sunday, 15 September 2013 was spent enjoying His presence and hearing His Word for us. Our message this morning was, “Get up, for you have been set free”, Acts 12:5-10. As we yielded ourselves before Him on this day, He instructed us to prepare ourselves because of the liberty He was giving to us. This liberty was not for our sole benefit, but it was to fulfill His mandates and our purpose. We understood that there were times in our lives when we felt as if there were chains around our wrists, and we were locked away. Once one believes that he or she is locked away, if only in his or her mind, the devil has defeated us – he has won the round. We begin to feel stagnate and complacent, as if it is over for us. This is the result of being in chains and not free. But God, has come that we might experience life and liberty. In our text, we see that Peter had been seized and put in prison – but God, came to his rescue and delivered him. Peter was told to get up, to follow the angel of the Lord, and was led to freedom. This is what the Lord is saying to us; with Him you can get up and be led to freedom. Our (3) points on this morning were: 1) Be mindful that the Lord moves quickly, so be ready for His move (just as Peter was ready for the Lord’s quickness), 2) As He gives direction concerning your release, listen attentively and follow Him (just as Peter did – he listened and followed), and 3) After being set free remember to give Him all the glory by doing His will (just as Peter did, after being freed he went to home where the saints had been praying – he left there an continued the work of the ministry). Be blessed throughout this day and week, and enjoy the liberty that God has extended towards each of us. Pastor Ray, Lady LyRae and the members of the Temple.
