Our very first season as Scorcherz has come to a close. We started off with getting to know each other, battled injuries and HS sports, but hung in there. And what a way to finish it off. In St. George, for the first time, all 11 of our Scorcherz were together. These girls played like the team we know they are and pulled out victory after victory, even a few come from behind wins that showed what heart and determination they each have. To finish 4th in the upper bracket of the St. George tournament, beating many established, high ranked teams is a great accomplishment. As a coach, I could not be more proud of who these girls are, how they learned to believe in each other and how they played!! Parents, thank you for believing as well. We could not have done this without your support. You are all awesome! What a great experience this has been for me as a coach. When I was first approached by Dave and Shane and later Jason to coach a brand new team, I had no real idea of what type of players we could gather. Our tryouts went well and I had only hoped our Scorcherz could become a good team in a short period of time. Boy did it work out as good, if not better than I expected. From what we started out as, to how we finished, can be directly attributed to the hard work and belief each of these girls had in themselves and their teammates. Thank goodness we have gathered such awesome kids, supported by such great parents. Thank you all! With the foundation thats been established, we can only look forward to great experiences in the future. To celebrate our team, wed like to have a Holiday/Christmas party on December 7th. This party would be for players and their families! Jason has offered the use of his store in Taylorsville, the same one we met at for the door hanger activities. He said we could have use of the whole store after it closes. The party will start at 7PM. The address is: 3815 W. 5400 S. Taylorsville, UT 84118 We would like to have a put luck dinner and will have games, movies and activities for the kids. Wed also like to have a brief parent meeting that evening to discuss our plans for 2014. Here are some of the things wed like to discuss: •Two tournaments before HS season starts, one in January (Mesquite), one in February (St. George) •HS season starts February 24 and ends May22 •Potential tournaments for 2014 We have planned this party early to stay away from your family holiday plans.
