Our veterans signed a blank check to the United States of America - TopicsExpress

Our veterans signed a blank check to the United States of America up to and including their lives. Many have seen tours of duty, many more have not, just simply serving our country waiting to be called upon in a time of need. We are free because others had no concern for their own lives. At the 11th minute of the 11th hour on 11/11 1918, we observed an Armistice from the war to end all wars. President Wilson one year later in 1919 recognized the first commemoration of the day. It was recognized in Congress in 1926. Then in 1954 President Eisenhower changed it officially to Veterans Day in honor of all the Veterans because WWII had summoned the greatest mobilization of sailors, Marines, soldiers, and airmen in the nations history. Thank you to all Veterans from the bottom of my heart for the protection and peace I know everyday with sacrifices I know little about.
