Our wonderful local Gosport And Fareham Inshore Rescue Service are on the lookout for fundraisers, shore crew and boat crew to join its team of volunteers who help to keep us safe at sea. Fundraisers will assist with events throughout the year. Shore crew are needed to help launch and recover the lifeboats and man the radios on duty days and callouts. Training will be provided in tractor and Land Rover driving, launch and recovery procedures, first aid and the PC based reporting system. Boat crew will have to be reasonably fit, have some boating experience and ideally live locally. Youll have to be available to train for a couple of weekends each month and once qualified be able to take part in a duty weekend rota, respond to pager call outs and ideally be able to respond during the daytime.
