Ours is a house of older animals now ... the pets we got when we were first married are getting older. Onyx was a cat I got Matt to help mend his broken heart when we first moved in ... our 1st Onyx was his first cat here in Nebraska and we lost her right before we moved. So There he was in the pet store downtown and he was so beautiful. The owner walked up to me and said "oh I see you have met Onyx" I asked if I could hold him and he purred in my arms like he was home. I could not believe his name was Onyx and I was blown away by him... so I bought him and put him in the back room. Matt came home and I took his hand and told him I would like you to meet Onyx. His eyes full of tears I opened the door and Onyx came right over to meet his new best friend. Onyx is the sweetest cat but he is fierce hunter too.He will go on long week long hunting adventures and brings back all kinds of things to Matt. He lost a top of his ear and his sight is almost gone. He is a cat who loves to be out in the wild but when he comes home he is all love. He is 12 now and this last hunting trip was 1 1/2 months long and I thought he was gone. Matt and John Klien were at the park talking about improvements when they heard a faint cry and there he was... Matt came home with his thin weak friend.... The girls fed him and hugged him..... It renewed my faith that love comes home and we can survive and find our way home. So glad he is home... no more hunting trips for our friend. Time to help him rest and find his way home. Life is good!
