Out away from the beaten path, nestled in the hollow of a North Idaho mountain canyon, lies a quiet place of being. The sun arcs across the sky, transforming forgotten shadows into born again landscapes that capture and release the timeless energy they embody. Designed firmly into the swales and ponds on site are the security and serenity that result from simply allowing water to rest. Banks of terraces are filled with fruit and nut trees that sway back and forth in the wind. They line the hillside like actors, bowing gracefully to the audience after a days performance on an earthen stage. The structures blend into the scenery like backdrops for an award winning film. Welcome to work in progress at the TenAcreWood. The show is being provided by permaculture, the actors are nursing trees with nitrogen power who pursue their passion like movie stars, and the drama they produce is nothing short of miraculous. After 4 years of study and dedication, the storyline they have been acting out together is now taking form.
