Out of all the challenges I have faced in my life, the one that has forced me to use every ounce of intellect, every memory of lessons Ive learned via book or life experience, my total depth of understanding of vocabulary and my ability to use the correct words to speak my thoughts and express my heart with an urgency that rivals life and death situations...is my role as mother. Unlike other roles I have held in life where the passing of time and experience results in some sense of level of expertise, this role of mother, in spite of the passing of time, leaves me feeling more and more inadequate rather than qualified. Just when I think Ive figured out the dance, the music changes and here I go tripping over my feet and struggling to find the rhythm. But the moments where the dance steps and music are in sync are so sweet....it makes the awkwardness of learning a new dance worth it. I just wish the music wasnt changing so quickly. --- Johnna
