Out of the 1,100+ Facebook friends Ive connected with, I only personally know a few hundred of you. So for those of you that I dont know personally, you should know that I like to smile. Who doesnt, right?! For each person that doesnt like to smile, I can only suggest you keep frowning--yes, continue frowning. Then do a handstand and be content knowing that youre now smiling in your own way. For the rest of us, carry on and allow me to tell you about my day. Today was a normal day...breakfast, phone calls, texts, gym, protein, and basketball...then it happened, a black eye, swollen, bleeding, and manly. ;) A few games later the swollen, bandaged eye was joined by a crack to the nose and a quick reset of my already crooked nasal cavity as my eyes watered, blurring my vision. PLAY ON!! There on the sideline near the other players awaiting their turn to shine on the court stood a unique individual. She was one of the most beautiful young ladies I had ever seen. Her smile beamed as her pearly-white teeth showed in a grin that struck me in the heart...or it could have been cupid, but he isnt due shooting arrows of love until February, but I digress... She was magnificent! Her physique, her style, her gorgeous hair, her beautiful face with her caring eyes and contagious smile--it all spoke to me non-verbally, but as direct and descriptive as these words I have written. In an unprecedented manner, I threw in the towel. Basketball would have to wait another day. I coyly approached her, spoke with her and left. We reconvened at a park where we went for a walk, talking, until we gave in to a makeshift bench on a power box. We talked for a couple hours but the strongest form of communication came in the looks we gave each other, deep gazes into each others eyes as our peripheral vision picked up on each others cheek-hurting, wide-mouthed smiles--no words needed for what we felt. We returned to our cars and kissed, knowing that she was as much mine as I was hers. She is my girlfriend. Angela Smith is the most incredible woman I have met. Next time life gives you lemons, set them on the ground, make a path, and let those lemons guide you like a yellow brick road to happiness. You deserve it. And if there are any extra, make some lemonade for you journey...Angela and I have. :) #BestDayEver #LifeIsAJourney #EnjoyIt
