Out of the frying pan and into the fire.... Thats how it very much looks for disabled people now Atos are coming to the close of their Disability assessment contract and American Corporation Maximus take over. Theres an old joke that Politics is nothing more than organised crime and the more I look, the less jokey it becomes. Maximus have an extremely bad reputation in America especially where corruption is concerned, one has to wonder at the genius in our Gov who took them on. Or was it desperation as whomever has the WCA contract will get a rough ride I can assure them of that. Stories of corruption and abuse by Maximus are rife in the States Ill put links up at the bottom. Read them, they may not all be 100% accurate but these people had complaints for a reason. --------------------------------------------------------------- American firm fined £20m for fraud scandal take over hated fit-for-work tests AN American firm dogged by accusations of corruption and incompetence are to take over controversial fit-to-work tests. Maximus will pick up the contract given up by French company Atos . The Daily Record exclusively revealed 10 days ago that the Virginia firm were in pole position to win the bidding process . The UK contract, worth £500million over three years, will run from March 2015. Concerns were raised after it emerged Maximus were fined £20million in 2007 over allegations they cheated US health care firm Medicaid by making tens of thousands of false claims. Maximus paid the penalty but didn’t accept liability. In 2010, they paid out £1.3million in a lawsuit brought by the state of Connecticut for the “abject failure” of their computer system, which was supposed to run a police database. The Scottish Government said: “We’ve long made our concerns clear about the current assessment process. We hope the Department for Work and Pensions take these concerns on board and work to implement measures that allow greater confidence in the process. “We want a system that treats people with dignity and respect, and places an emphasis on supporting individuals.” Maximus chief executive Richard Montoni said: “Our goal is to improve the overall customer experience by addressing challenges that exist today.” dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/american-firm-fined-20m-fraud-4539531 ripoffreport/r/maximus-inc/reston-virginia-20190/maximus-inc-faud-and-corruptions-all-over-the-united-states-for-child-support-child-ca-490534 ripoffreport/reports/specific_search/Maximus+Inc
