Outkast – “Stankonia” This is without a doubt my favorite album by Atlanta’s finest, Outkast. Prior to this album I was neither an Outkast fan nor much of a hip-hop music fan. I liked the occasional song here and there but really didnt find the genre all that interesting. This album changed my mind and made me open to some other really great albums that I wouldve never given a chance if it hadnt been for Outkast. The album is also special because it’s really the last time that Andre 3000 and Big Boi produced music together as a duo. Outkasts subsequent albums were solo albums produced under the Outkast name and though they had some great stuff on them they werent the great albums that I feel “Stankonia” was. Everyone remembers the big hits Ms Jackson and So Fresh, So Clean but it was the first single “B.O.B” that really caught my attention and made me realize this wasn’t your average hip-hop group and this wasn’t going to be you’re average hip-hop album. I’m still hoping that Andre and Big Boi will someday get in the studio and make music together again but if they don’t they still left a legacy of some great music. https://youtube/watch?v=MkPZU6TYSPI
