Outrageous! Yesterday, the conservative Roberts Supreme Court shamelessly blocked same-day registration and out-of-precinct voting in North Carolina, just in time to rig next months midterm election for the Republicans. Last year, they struck down Section 4 of the Voting Rights Act, which allowed states with the worst history of voting discrimination -- like North Carolina -- to make radical changes to their voting laws in order to discourage or block voting by racial minorities. Now, they go out of their way to approve those undemocratic restrictions right before early voting is set to start in a crucial swing state. This follows a similar intervention in Ohio last week, where they allowed Republicans to limit early voting to block African-Americans and other minority voters. The conservative Roberts Supreme Court isnt even PRETENDING to be nonpartisan anymore. Shame on them.
