Outreach Plans For Fall SAVE THE DATES: October 2-6th Friends from NICARAGUA are coming! October 4th HWY Clean Up November 9-10 Booth at Dewey Pilot Club Holiday Arts and Crafts Fair As fall approaches, the Outreach Commission is looking ahead to year end events. We will once again be hosting our friends from Nicaragua October 2nd through the 6th. Julio, Elba and Nimia are planning to visit Bartlesville briefly before the JustHope Wine for Water and Service event on October 9th and we will get to host them for this years World Communion Sunday. As in years past, we hope to have the opportunity to engage them in some of our activities and give all that want to the chance to meet them and hear what has happened in Chacraseca in the last year. One activity will include the Highway Cleanup scheduled for October 4th. We will have a booth at this years Dewey Pilot Club Holiday Arts and Crafts fair on November 9th and 10th. This is a fun event and we are again planning to sell arts and crafts from Nicaragua. This helps our Nica friends and is also a fundraiser for our Outreach efforts. This year we will be working to raise money that can help farmers in Chacraseca who are suffering as a result of the terrible drought. Like much of the western U.S., they have had little to no rain this year and the farmers do not have crops to sell. Worse yet, they cant afford to buy seed to plant the next seasons crops. Two hundred dollars can help a family farm buy seed. We are targeting $2000 in order to help ten families. Watch for our rain gauge outside of the sanctuary and please help if you can.
