Outstanding A Level examination results Many of our twenty Year 13 - TopicsExpress

Outstanding A Level examination results Many of our twenty Year 13 students will today be celebrating first-class A level results and looking forward to taking up places at top universities. Just the second cohort of 18 year-olds to graduate, this year’s group has certainly set the bar high for their successors. Remarkably, more than 40% of all entries were graded A*/A and well over 60% were awarded a B grade or better. Given that no fewer than 10 A*/A grades were attained in Maths and Further Maths, it is perhaps not surprising that at least six students appear to be heading for degree courses at University College London and at Imperial but, closer to home, BST will also be represented at Waseda and Doshisha when the new academic year commences. Another highlight was the achievement of six A*/A grades in the Extended Project and three Distinctions awarded in the AQA Bacc, clearly illustrating that a BST education is both well-rounded and tailored to accommodate the particular interests of individual students. While I am delighted to share with you the successes of our top performers, it is even more pleasing to see students who have had to work very hard to cope with the demands of A level achieving results better than even they might have expected. There are certainly times when a C or even a D is just as much a cause for celebration as an A*. These outstanding results represent a fitting reward for a talented, hard-working group of students and for their very dedicated teachers. Congratulations!
