Over 30% of the Congressional Representatives ad Senatorial representatives a millionaires. Their objectives are the same as the 1% that have been allowed to control over 90% of the wealth. Today is the first day of Black History Month. Since Lyndon Johnson declared that there was a War on Poverty the situation has gotten worse. The President is Black. The Attorney General is Black. The Mayors of several large cities are Black. There is a Congressional Black Caucus. Yet, none of these Black people said a thing as the banks stole homes from the minority communities in America. Bill Erbey, owner of Ocwen Financial, had to give back $2.3 billion that his company made from reverse red lining. Mr. Erbey used dummy companies to engage in illegal transactions such as robo-signing and transferring signatures on documentation, which would result in people being trapped into transactions that they couldnt get out of in non-judicial states like California. As a result of this illegal activity, cities like Richmond, Fresno, El Monte, Compton and Oakland, California, have revenue shortfalls. All in minority areas. The unemployment rate in the rural part of the state is above 15% in some cities. The banks have the money to resolve all of the socioeconomic problems in this country, right now. Mr. Obama could have abolished the Office of Thrift Supervision and let the Justice Department indict Henry Paulson. He didnt. Instead he called the homeowners who were losing their homes greedy. Using their homes as piggy banks he said. What the banks did was not illegal, just reckless, the President said. Since these statements were made the banks have been assessed over $2 billion in fines for illegal banking. None of the minorities who have been victimized have been compensated. Why?
