Over 30 years since I left the Black Country but once a ‘Snetter’ always a ‘Snetter’.’ Because the official Black Country day clashes with one of the biggest Madonna festivals in my part of Italy (that’s the Virgin Mother not the pop star) we decided hold our celebration early. Black Country folk are a bit thin on the ground in Southern Italy so I adopted my own AYLI and AYNOCK for the day in the form of my Italian and Norwegian friend Agostino and Tom. A great day (and night) was had by a house-full of multi-nationals and thanks to all who attended the legend which is the Black Country is now known a little more further-afield. The hardest part of the day was steering Italians away from pasta and explaining “faggots and peas.”
