Over a thousand Muslim Filipinos get vaccination for Hajj By : Ayunan G. Gunting To assure healthy travelling in preparation for this year’s Hajj celebration, the provincial government of Lanao del Sur headed by Gov Bombit Adiong, Jr, the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos and the Bureau of Quarantine on Sunday, August 25, successfully held the 2013 Hajj Mobile Vaccination Program at the Provincial Gym, Capitol Complex, Marawi City. The 2013 Hajj Mobile Vaccination Program effectively carried out its purpose in bringing services near to the Muslim Filipinos in Mindanao, having able to serve a total of 1,076 people this year. "The program was meant to help Muslim Filipinos secure yellow cards as one of the requirements to perform Hajj" , my good friend Gov Bombit said. Hajj is a yearly celebration and the biggest religious gathering of Muslims all over the world. Because millions of people attend the annual religious event, the Hajj vaccination program was developed to protect Muslim travelers from being infected with infectious diseases. The 2013 Hajj Mobile Vaccination Program was also made possible in cooperation with the Provincial Health Office, Local Government Unit of Mindanao, Philippine National Red Cross, Integrated Provincial Health Office , Philippine National Police, and the Philippine Army. Hon. Mirkart T. Allian, Commissioner of the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos and Hon. Alex Menor, Assemblyman of the Second District of Lanao del Sur served as the guest of honors
