Over my 56 years, I believe God has put me in places that I needed to be for young children, Boys especially. I cant think of a place I have lived where there was not a young lad close by who was in much need of a Dad Figure. Father Figure was not a problem usually, the father would come by and cuss them every week or month, what ever they felt he needed. It is amazing how many times a bike chain came off, or a go-cart stopped, or most any kind of tragedy. I usually walked out to help, and one time, the little guy grabbed his bike and took off running! I yelled out, I was going to FIX it! Breaks on......turn around and walking back. Several I taught how to take care of their bikes, go-carts, mowers, and even up to pick up trucks. It is so neat now to be going through a store, or somewhere, and see one of the guys going along with an arm around a boy or tow, or have a cute little girl with a head full of curls on his shoulders. I was about to say, I may have missed a lot of fishing trips. but to honestly think of it.........I had a great excuse to go a lot more! I do not regret one second of it! If God gives you the chance....Being a surrogate DAD is great!
