Over my many years, I have been given the privilege of having met - TopicsExpress

Over my many years, I have been given the privilege of having met many wonderful people of a variety of races and ethnicities, religions, and professions. I have appreciated all of them. I served in the USAF with Americans who had converted to Islam. I also served with atheists and agnostics. I respected everyone of them. I have to some degree enjoyed the humor of Bill Maher but have reached a breaking point. He has taken his professed atheism to the level of ad hominem arguments and the disparaging of people who adhere to a religion. Last week, he spoke bombastically on the issue of terrorism in the Mideast and Islam again being grossly disrespectful of sincere Moslem believers. Ben Affleck caught him on this and said that Mahers comments were pure bigotry. Reza Aslan, a frequent guest, has also addressed Mahers bigotry. People hate for whatever reason they can conjure. Many who hate have no reason so they make up a reason. Stalin killed 20 million people under the pretext of scientific atheism. Hitler slaughtered 13 million in concentration camps and 50 million in war under the pretext Darwinian survival of the fittest. The attitude of Bill Maher falls into the same category of needing to hate and then finding a reason to justify the hate.
