Over the course of the last century, industrial capitalism endowed the USA with unprecedented material prosperity and uncontested global power by creating a multi-tentacled industrial machine that valued short-term Profit$ over People and corporate bottom-lines over planetary LIFE... To cap it all off, the machine empowered itself with legal Per$onhood and quite efficiently converted our former democratic Republic into an increasingly repressive, feudalistic (or fascist) Oligopoly. At this point in time, a majority of Americans (including small business owners, entrepreneurs, professionals, students, teachers, tradesmen, the middle-class, working poor and the retired, unemployed and disadvantaged) have belatedly awakened to the reality of the preceding. So NOW, our best chance of restoring our democratic Republic lies in shedding the fear-&/or-greed-based ideologies that divide us and UNITING in POPULIST SOLIDARITY to elect rational Truth-tellers with an unwavering allegiance, not to the One Percent but, to the PEOPLE! Thats probably the ONLY way we can Take Our Country Back and restore governance responsive to our collective best interests, reclaim our civil rights and liberties and demand/create a new, more democratic and greener economy in which ALL may participate with dignity,.. not by working harder and consuming more, but by consuming less and rediscovering Nature, our families and our communities.
