Over the last 24 hours, stories about Palestine & Israel have shown the situation getting progressively worse. But over that same period of time, I also got an email from a guy living in a small town in the northern part of the West Bank. The content of the email was simple: I live in Palestine. I have little resources. But I want to help. What can I do? If you google the name of the city hes from, youll see stories of firebombings, gun attacks, and settler violence. What you wont find is the story of a guy whos out there trying to help his community. What you wont find is the story of a guy who sold his tech business so he could focus on the charity he wanted to run. You most definitely wont find the story of a guy who worries more about those around him than he does his own life probably being in danger tonight. While every other piece of news coming out of that region of the world demands sadness, his email is what gives me hope that there is still good, that there is still reason to hope. I just hope he -- and everyone else in Gaza right now -- make it through the night.
