Over the last 655 days our family has been on amazing ride. Since my heart attack in February of 2013 we have had lots of ups and downs but there has been one constant, God has a plan. Getting a pancreatic cancer diagnoses is life changing when the statistics say only 6 of 100 people live FIVE years. You really rethink life. As I sit in Fall River tonight watching Elysa and her team try to overcome the odds(sadly it didnt go too well) I am truly blessed to be here. Today I left the house at 4am to make my trip to Mayo. Long story --short, my extensive surgery in April got all of the cancer and my CT today showed I was cancer free(not many pancreatic cancer patients can say that) The challenges I am left with are life after the whipple and hopefully with time I too can get many of those things even better. Today they started me on enzymes that will hopefully help with the gastric dumping that he feels might be the cause of my week ness and lack of stamina. While I am not sure that I will ever be back in a classroom I am very happy with where I am and look forward (God willing,) to many years to come.
