Over the last few days Ive been listening to the three part album 69 Love Songs by Magnetic Fields in sequence. I cant believe I hadnt done this before. Each song is an experience- some moments are uncomfortably real. Stephin Merritt wrote and composed all songs, and he has the most beautifully raw, untrained, haunting bass voice. I know Im raving about a band most arent too familiar with, but I feel they need to be acknowledged for their work- mostly the incredible songwriting. If you want a break from singles, and trendy pop songs, I suggest you listen to this album…all 69 songs.
