Over the last few months, we have seen violence against women take a very nasty turn--from the home to the communities and at the national level through wars and other manmade disasters. I just watched a disgusting video that has me shaking and really feeling a sense of rage. In one of Africas largest cities, Nairobi, Kenya, a group of men mobbed a young woman and tearing her clothes off for tempting them by wearing a miniskirt. I will not share the video on my page because I believe it perpetuates the crime committed against this young woman. As an African woman and an African feminist, I strongly oppose this kind of violence against women and believe that perpetrators should be brought to justice. I stand by my sisters in Kenya as they object this abuse.
