Over the last few weeks my Audi A3 started acting up. It would not pick up revs, especially in the mornings, but sometimes even during the day. The performance got really sluggish and it felt like driving a 1300. The fuel consumption also got really bad. After numerous checks and diagnostics I discovered that the MAF (Mass Air Flow) Sensor was faulty (age does this). This morning I went and bought a new one (original part, not pirate junk, R1950.00). Installation took about 5 minutes and the Audi now performs like a beast. Amazing how such a small thing can make your car feel so old when it goes faulty. I just seriously hope that this is the last of my big expenses for the month as everything that broke in August really cost more than I want to spend.
