Over the last few weeks we have made a few trips to the BRI with some goodies. We as always sent knitted items blankets hats and cardigans firstly. Then we donated some items which are to help families; 3 waterproof cameras which can be sterilised a photo printer and memory cards for taking photos in the nurseries. A quantity of colouring books, crayons and jigsaws to be handed out to siblings to keep them occupied whilst parents are in meetings etc and then can be taken home also a dvd player, dvds and lots of earphones so they dont have to be shared. Lots of toiletries soaps, toothbrushes, lip balm, hair brushes, bobbles etc a hairdryer, clothing nighties, pyjamas, robes , for mums tshirts and joggers for dads, slippers and clean socks. Also new towels all these items are to help parents who end up on the unit due to an emergency and may not have anything with them and nobody to bring things just to help them through the first days so they dont have to leave. We also donated little notebooks and pens for use in the meetings with doctors so notes can be made and any questions can be written down for later. All the little things really make a difference to unit we are constantly thinking of other ways we can help xx
