Over the last half a century or so, all efforts to redeem the original Oromo identity had to endure hostile political, cultural and socio-economic environments in the Ethiopian empire state. As a result, such efforts were compelled to take an adventurous pathway thereby politicizing the Oromo identity as its entirety. But now, it seems evident that time is ripe to depoliticize being Oromo for the best benefit of not only the Oromo nation itself but also for the whole horn region.
