Over the last several years Ive been involved with the not for profit NSPI (New Sotterlee Project International). During that time Ive mostly remained quiet on here and in other venues about that involvement for a variety of personal reasons. NSPI has done, and continues to do some excellent cornerstone work in historical and cultural conservation. This has been mostly quiet background work focused on research and support for various historical and cultural groups and the experiential application of what was learned from the research and support. We have had some very wonderful people involved in the ongoing process. & Ive remained quiet here. In the past year we have lost two people who were supporters of our effort. Adam Koppy, a brilliant man with an amazing future and family was taken in a freak car wreak. Adam was extremely intelligent, had the I think we can do it this way mentality that we use so much & was quick to dust off & have at it again when things didnt work right the first 23 times. Ted Rensland, who started out strongly against our efforts before having a change of heart from seeing what we were actually about, not what he had been told we were about, left us this past fall due to cancer after having quietly inspired us in his own crusty old salt way. Teddy Fix was his montra that drove many of us on as we worked to embody the mentality shown to us by Ted whenever things went haywire. Both are dearly missed by myself, their families, and even by people who hadnt had the mixed pleasure of getting to know them as well as those who did. Presently there is a third who is in the latter stages of his life that has been a teacher to several of us in what would be considered a non-traditional manner. His lessons are being felt by all aspects of our people even most have never heard of him. This is Donald Michael Kraig. In spite of our faiths being theoretically diametrically opposed, he has been willing to reach across the metaphysical lines and help us explore, within the confines of our own faith, the fullness of that faith. Just as with Adam and Ted, I, we, cannot thank him enough. It is to these three, and to all of those still with us who have helped and supported through action, thought, prayer, & even animosity towards our effort, past, present & future that I take a moment to reach out with one of my favorite songs by Joe Cocker. Im only tagging immediate family of the above three. The rest of you all know who you are. Thank You all! (Holly-please play this for Don.) youtube/watch?v=bRzKUVjHkGk
