Over the last six months I have received an overwhelming amount of correspondence regarding this blog. From what I can tell, people are supportive and interested. Ive corresponded with several people who think they may be Bipolar, and some were reaching out to me for advice. This made me take a step back and think. I started this blog initially because I am having a hell of a time getting a literary agent to represent me as a fiction writer. I figured if no one wanted me that I would publish myself. Strangely I didnt get a great sense of fulfillment through just being published like I thought I would have. It was the corresponding with and relating to other Bipolar people that brought fulfillment. It likewise ignited the most beautiful urgency in me to write. Ive never pecked away at a keyboard with such passion. It felt like I was writing a book... So, Im pausing any additional installments on the blog because anything and everything else I have to say about having Bipolar Disorder is currently being woven into an anecdotal memoir instead. I will self-publish through the wonderful Create Space/Amazon this fall. I currently have two novels under construction and I couldnt care less about them. I may even line the birdcage with them because Fat, Drunk and Bipolar is my story to tell right now. And I dont have to construct and untangle any story lines this time, because I have lived them.
