Over the last year, I’ve gotten a lot of comments from people saying they wish they could travel the world as I am but feel they don’t have the money to do so. I’ve never had much money at all, but I’ve still been able to live around the world the past 4 years. There are actually more resources than most people are aware of that allow you to be a global nomad if that is a desire. Of course, there is the more obvious ways, like English teaching, but there are also many other ways emerging through the “global sharing economy”. Im actually thinking of writing an article on it, as many people seem unaware of the options available to traveling on a low budge. Anyways, this is just but one network that has emerged recently for those interested in alternative ways to travel the globe… “Housesitting entails taking care of someone else’s property (and possibly their pets) in exchange for your stay. Over the past decade technology has spawned a new model of unpaid housesitting, with websites connecting homeowners and potential sitters for jobs lasting weeks or months at a time…. This peer-to-peer model is part of the “sharing economy” During their 10 years of housesitting, a couple from the UK, Angela and John Laws, have traveled to over five continents.”
