Over the next week or so a winter-like regime will slide eastward - TopicsExpress

Over the next week or so a winter-like regime will slide eastward across the country. The wintry feelings are already being felt in the northern plains where a swath of 6-12 of snow blanketed much of the region. Now many Lake Effect Snow belts are starting to get going over the next couple days. Friday there will be a strengthening disturbance, that will gain organization a little too late for anything major in the east. With that being said, there is enough confidence now to say there could be some snow accums north and west of the I-95 corridor Friday into Friday Night. Elsewhere in the Northern Mid-Altantic and northeast there could be scattered snow showers throughout the evening. Onto Sunday-Tuesday. There is beginning to be some talk on a possible snow event in the east. There is some pretty good potential to this, but at this point Im only willing to be confident enough to say any snowfall accumulations there could be would be confined to the Appalachian mountain from WV through interior New England. There is still a lot of uncertainty with the system 4-5 days out. So stay tuned for that. here are a couple maps to show you all what I am thinking at this point. -GB
