Over the past day, since dad went home to be with Jesus, so many people have talked about the influence he had on their lives. I know if Dad could hear these words he would be rejoicing, knowing that his efforts for God were not in vain. Dad gave me life 51 years ago, and is the reason Im still alive today. 29 years ago, dad showed me what tough love was...he saved me from myself, from a life of addiction. I know it was hard for him, and I know I broke his heart many times, but he never gave up on me, he just loved me through it all! The days ahead, without dad, will be...honestly I dont know what theyll be, Ive never had to live without him. But one thing I know for sure, is he taught me how to live, instilled in me his values, and he taught me about Jesus! I am who I am because of my dad! He didnt just talk the talk, he walked the walk! I always told him he was Jesus with skin on. He loved the Lord, and he loved his family! Thank you everyone who has been there for me and my family through these difficult times. Your prayers, emails, texts, and, FB comments have been so uplifting and encouraging to us. Please continue to pray for us as we learn to live without our dad, husband and friend. It will not be easy, but with Gods help, and friends/family, we will keep putting one foot in front of the other, until the glorious dad that we see dad again!
