Over the past few months I have been personally battling an increase in pricing with our sweet rolls.. I know that companies go through this kind of transition, but it just seems SO personal to me as Ive gotten to love and befriend so many of my clients. I want them to know how loved and appreciated they are. I never want them to feel like I am taking advantage of their support as I start this small business. With that being said, I do feel like I owe it to my customers to let them know the method behind my madness and why we are at a place where we need to keep a competitive price with our most beloved product. We have sold our cinnamon rolls for $8 per tray of 6 for a year now. No price changes, no gimmicks. We are increasing our sweet roll prices, effective April 1st, to $10 per tray of 6 (any flavor), as we now have a certified retail facility that brings along its own overhead, along with a constant increase in food and gas prices that I experience on a weekly basis. (Ahhh- and the manual labor portion that I really do work hard for, I promoise!) I have been blessed to hear from people around town that I have a good product, so with that, I feel that I deserve to be able to sell this product at a competitive rate. The other bakery in town sells their rolls for $1.75 a piece, and Burger King sells their MINI cinnabon for $2.29. Even with our price increase, we are below both of these prices. I can honestly tell my customers that each one of these sweet rolls is handmade. By me. In my bakery. Using my own two hands. From start to finish. I am the sole employee of Sweet Ps. I hope that my customers will understand and not see that price went up in just one week but that price went up over the course of a year because she worked hard, she developed a good product, and she wanted to sell them at a fair price, I appreciate any feedback, but I sincerely hope that everyone knows that this decision wasnt taken lightly, nor was it done selfishly.
