Over the past few weeks I have been privileged to witness the electoral process in my little town closeup. Keeping in mind that this can very much be a mirror of what happens throughout Canada there are some lessons I learned that Id like to share: 1. Elections are grueling: Not just on the candidates but on their entire team. I would also expect that the larger the electoral constituency the more is demanded of the candidates and their team. 2. Youve got to have a thick skin. The candidate I supported is an amazing human being: He is down to earth, open and authentic. Yet there were at least a couple people who hounded him, called him names, made accusations. What I admired was that he consistently told his team of volunteers to stay out of the fray. 3. Hard work pays off: Not only did he win, but I sincerely believe that our town wins as well. Not only did my family vote but we joined our voices with 4,361 other voices choosing Justin Altmann for Mayor!! Congratulations Mayor-elect Justin Altmann.
