Over the past few weeks, residents in Bureau County have been phoning in complaints to local authorities about a possible Cougar sighting near Sheffield. Scott Wright, a spokesman for the IDNR, says that cougars have been spotted in Illinois before, just never in Bureau County. Wright also says that at this time he cannot confirm or deny the existence of this cougar since no IDNR member has seen and it has not been photographed. At this time Wright and other IDNR members are on the look-out for this possible cougar. Wright also says residents need not worry about the cougar being dangerous, as they tend to avoid any and all human contact.
