Over the past week I started thinking about the last few days for this year. Longing to know what 2015 holds for my life as we move forward into deeper place of ministry. The words that kept coming to me from every side is a familiar verse to many of us, ...And he shall bring forth the capstone with shouts of Grace, grace to it! Please carefully read these verses, “For who are you, O great mountain [of human obstacles]? Before Zerubbabel [who with Joshua had led the return of the exiles from Babylon and was undertaking the rebuilding of the temple, before him] you shall become a plain [a mere molehill]! And he shall bring forth the finishing gable stone [of the new temple] with loud shoutings of the people, crying, Grace, grace to it!” (Zech 4:6-7) The cry, “Grace, grace to it!” is not spoken over the mountain. The cry of grace comes after the mountain is brought down. “Grace, grace” is spoken to the plain. The shouts of grace grace arent needed to bring down the mountains of human obstacles, or those issues of the past. Grace is needed for cultivating the plains of what God has in store for your life. I know that grace means, Gods unmerited favor, yet unmerited favor is only one aspect of grace. In reality, grace is Gods promise to do for us what we cannot do for ourselves. It may be that God is saying, You have labored, your enemies are many and theyre strong, but the work Ive set before you isnt about your abilities; its about what I can do working through you. I have this sense in my heart that 2015 will be a year of The overturning of obstacles!” Remember this, there is always a mountain of difficulty in the way of faith. The best evidence of Gods presence and power is the activity of the adversary! Happy Monday Everyone.
