Over the past week, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department Transit Police Services division, in conjunction with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department Hazardous Devices Squad, conducted multiple counterterrorism operations throughout Orange County in an ongoing effort to provide the highest level of safety possible to the citizens of Orange County. Although no specific threat to mass transit has been uncovered, these operations are part of an ongoing effort to detect, prevent, and disrupt terrorist and criminal activity.
