Over the years I have developed a set of habits --- and it just works for me. I get asked all the time if fasted cardio is the secret (there really isnt one) and if more is better, if I lift heavy, do I train legs still and a range of other questions. I personally prefer getting in my cardio fasted - I feel better and like to get it out of the way. THAT ISNT TO SAY ITS THE ONLY WAY. I tell clients to get their cardio in when it works best for them and do the type of cardio they enjoy most. The easier on your schedule and more enjoyable it is, the more likely you will stick to it. What about training? Well, I DO STILL TRAIN, just not as often. I prefer to have a few hours between my cardio and training so mid-morning gym time is preferred and bonus?? Its such a quiet time of day and allows me to focus on just me without the demands of work and family time. Lately I have been loving this style of training opposed to conventional straight sets, reps and body part splits. Its always changing, challenging and I LOVE the way its transformed my body (ok ok, I still have some weight to lose). So another tip I like to share is DONT BE AFRAID TO TRY SOMETHING NEW -- you may end up loving it as much as I do :)
