Over the years, Ive noticed the car bumper sticker advocating tolerance become more and more prominent. I understand the intent of many who advertise this message is for the sake of showing kindness to others. I agree with being kind. The Bible even tells us to love our enemy. But, I think we are becoming slowly enlightened to the underlying motivation of the tolerance message. The meaning of tolerance isnt to show kindness. Tolerance is tolerating anothers opposing opinion and/or behavior. I believe in freedom. But, at what point do we draw the line on how much we are willing to tolerate. Too much tolerance will eventually be to our own demise. I love people, but I certainly dont love evil, nor do I embrace evil behavior!
